DEVOLIN ANNOUNCES $3765 IN CELEBRATE CANADA FUNDING FOR BROCK TOWNSHIP

CANNINGTON - Local MP Barry Devolin, on behalf of the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, has announced a total of $3765 for two separate Celebrate Canada projects in Brock Township.

The Cannington Lions Club will receive $2015 to help cover the costs of their Canada Day celebration while the Beaverton Canada Day Committee will get $1750 to help cover some of their costs. Both events plan such things as children’s activities, live entertainment and fireworks.

“Celebrate Canada activities have become a tradition offering Canadians the opportunity to share their pride in their country,” said Devolin. “The success of these events is due, in great part, to the volunteer members who work tirelessly to ensure each Canadian has an opportunity to enjoy local celebrations.”

“I’d like to thank Walter Schummer of the Cannington Lions Club and Karen Windatt of the Beaverton Canada Day Committee for their hard work and their successful application for funding,” stated Devolin. “Having the opportunity to thank people for their hard work and commitment to making our communities better is one of the most rewarding things that I do as your MP.”

“Canada Day is an opportunity to gather in our communities, from coast to coast to coast, and to proudly celebrate all we have in common,” said Devolin.
